We took a picture of him by the back door then night we brought him home, we're going to repeat the picture at regular intervals to track his growth.

those were taken a few years ago... he's a cool dog. Real quiet around the house until someone he doesn't know comes near any of us. He gets REAL aggressive when that happens. he's a good dog though

Moose! Is he gonna be a floppy eared giant? I have no idea when you have to have the ears done. (not that I care or think it makes a diference, my shelties ears stand up like soldiers! i was just curious :) )

ear clipping is a load of crap, unless it's required for medical reasons.

He looks awesome.

I don't personally think it matters one way or the other, but i don't think its any different that getting a circumcision. I got one and i sure as hell don't remember getting it :)

The difference it makes is in how the dog looks and ho many questions you do or don't mind answering later one.

Also tail bobbing an ear clipping changes peoples perceptions on dogs temperments. I had a friend with a dobie who never got her ears or tail done. Nobody who didn't know any better ever thought she was anything but some floppy eared coon hound. And she always acted like the big old friendly floppy eared dog she was :)

I wouldn't even think about mutilating my dogs ears. I think the practice is barbaric, and it's very painful to the dog.

Yeah, if he's just going to be a pet and not a hunting companion, there's nothing pressing about clipping his ears. Just make sure to watch out for ear infections.

Hunting companion? WTF kind of BS is that? Every single gun dog I've ever met had natural ears. I never seen a beagle, retriever, or coon hound that had clipped ears. it does nothing to improve their hearing. It's just a stupid fashion statement that retards started. The only dogs I've ever seen with docked ears have been pitbulls, dobies, and danes.
