I need something to work towards now as i have most
of the stuff i want. Good PC, PSP all my gadgets. So, the
thing that keeps me working hard in work is giving myself
a Gadget Goal. Im after a LCD TV. I need a price that i
can work towards, a price to save for. Now its gonna be for
my bedroom so im guessing 30"/32" will be fine. I need a
good make, model and price !
Cheers

Why is it my sole life goal?
Just because i set myself things i want?
I dont have everything i want, but if i get the chance to work towards something it means i work a little harder?

You said, "The thing that keeps me working hard in work is giving myself a Gadget Goal."
To me that sounds a little pathetic. Why don't you aim for some future financial security? Or to broaden your horizons a bit?
Why waste your hard-earned cash on something that will be obsolete in a year?
I mean I understand buying some things for fun, but having it be your "goal" seems a bit off-putting.

Jackal, i invest in shares and stuff like that.
I have enough money saved for my insurance for my car, i have 1 loan and thats the only debt i have to my name.
I dont earn enough to move out yet, tho i am keeping my eyes peeled other jobs.
Its nice to have summat to show for the work i do.

A good TV is a great investment...Unfortunately I don't know enough about them to help you out. I do know that you will want to find one with HDTV included, as opposed to having to buy a seperate tuner.Don Carlos wrote:So im not in a position to move out yet?

I'm in the exact same boat man...Don Carlos wrote:i could move out, but i would have no life.
No going out or anything. Fuck that.
I'll get a better job and then move out.
1) Enjoy all kinds of cool toys. Live in an unconveniant place
2) Pack a lunch everyday and live in town
I picked option 1 because it came with a new car and a new computer.

LoL Jackals just being an ass because he's spending ungodly ammounts to go to university which he probably completely sucks ass at but he's spending his student loan like a GOOD LITTLE CONSUMER which he'll end up OWING for instead of having something to SHOW for it.
Which if he weren't such a fucking retard might be possible to show something for going to university unless your a loser like Jackal. You're the type of person that goes to university and fails miserably or barely makes his way through only to arrive at the end of the tunnel with no hope of being hired in his desired field because despite the piece of paper that makes him so smart he's still a loser. :icon19:

electronics should never be considered an "investment", because they're not.bitWISE wrote:A good TV is a great investment...Unfortunately I don't know enough about them to help you out. I do know that you will want to find one with HDTV included, as opposed to having to buy a seperate tuner.
and an HDTV with a built-in tuner is not a good idea. just get one that's HDTV "ready".

I'm not giving you shit DC, I myself am a shameless consumer whore, but I'm aware of it.Don Carlos wrote:So im not in a position to move out yet?

It's simply that Jackal pointed out that your goals are material-driven, and you just reinforced it with your "counter-argument".

Everyone here that's ragging on him for having a goal to buy a nice TV is a fucking asshole and a jealous one at that. Big fucking deal why the fuck take the time out of your day to point that out? Why?
Oh I know, cause you're a fucking retard that's why. That's like me walking across the bar and just punching some guy in the face cause I don't like the way he dresses. Like WTF? You have some serious issues with life Nightshade. You're either really jealous or you can't stand other people being happy and that goes for Jackal too. It's obvious your both fucking jaded now why don't you both FUCK OFF.
