Humble 5

Post by bitWISE »

This time the bundle comes with Bastion if any of you lot still haven't picked it up (including the new Linux version). All games come with their soundtracks this time and the Bastion game/soundtrack combo is well worth the price alone.

This is one of the better bundles. I snagged it for a tenner.

OK so Bastion has been sung about and I have heard about the sound track so I am gonna drop a few quid on this....Limbo is nice too so $15 is worth it, right?

I'd say so. The music from Limbo and Bastion is pretty good, too (so I hear).

It has one of the best endings I can remember playing. I still tear up a little just hearing the music. The story early on feels a little empty but the farther you go it really starts to get interesting and emotional.

Bastion is phenomenal, honestly

I was intrigued by it, but probably wouldn't have gotten it if it hadn't been so highly recommended here.

Bought, though I already have Bastion, Psychonauts and Limbo. It'll be fun to have Amnesia scare the shit out of me. I also already have the Limbo OST. Meh, it's for charity. Gave away my copy of Bastion since it uses a different key.

Already bought and beat Limbo, but the rest of the games are definitely worth it!

I dislike Limbo and never understood why so many people speak well of it.

Oh, finally a good excuse to get Psychonauts. Must say that I'm primarily buying this for Amnesia though. But it's a cool bundle all round. Bought it for $15, default split.

edit:
Currently listening to the Bastion soundtrack and it is absolutely great. Can't wait to play the game :)

I've played a good portion of Bastion and it's freakin' good. Just so you know.

Amnesia though..... not so much. Must say I've yet to encounter the first real monster (although I did see one slip around a corner) but it gets old, real fast. I played it late at night in the dark with headphones and while it has its scare moments, it relies too much on cliché's to be really scary.

Not played anything from this as yet...Max Payne 3 has been the object of my affection these few weeks. Though it is suprisingly difficult.

I will try Bastion soon as I can...because I know every single one of you is waiting with bated breath for me to do so.

Penumbra had a better story. There is a "sequel" in the works for Amnesia, due this fall.

They added three new games to Humble Bundle V:

- Braid
- Super Meat Boy
- Lone Survivor

You only get those if you've paid or will pay above the average.

So it's bad because you already own the games in it. Meaning the games were good enough aquire them in the first place. Meaning having them all in one easy to buy, cheap bundle is awesome for everyone. Apart from you of course as you probably stumped up a fair slice of wedge to get them before.

But still, it's a good bundle.

This is their best bundle so far.

I own them all apart from Bastion which I've been meaning to try for ages. I haven't heard of Lone Survivor but it looks pretty interesting and its addition has tipped the balance. Purchased.

EDIT: oh I didn't even notice it included the soundtracks. I fucking love Martin Stig Anderson's LIMBO melancholia.

Wait till you give Bastion's OST a spin. It's great, even if you haven't played the game. I just finished it mere minutes ago by the way. Very well made game that sets a very special mood.

Fuck yeah, you're right about the Bastion OST. I just listened to it playing Diablo and I had to keep alt tabbing out to note the names of the tracks. I love the narrator's voice too.
