FAKK again

Post by Uaintseenme »

Ok this time it isn't wallpapers, this time it's for my login/startup sound. Any of you who have played Heavy Metal F.A.K.K.2 and have heard the song in the background during the startup of the game know what I'm talking about. All I know is it has some chicks screaming in the background and guitars and stuff, but I can't find it. I searched through both pk3 files and all I got were loops and snips of it. Any of you ever get it or have it; perhaps know how to find it? Yes, I've googled.

exactly.

fakk 2 uses a scripting sytem to build individual clips into a whole track. the one from the demo looks like this:

path sound/music/fakkhouse
normal normal.mp3
action normal.mp3
aux1 fakkhouse.mp3
aux2 short.mp3
aux3 balt.mp3
aux4 general_long.mp3
//!action loop
!action interrupt
!action restart
//!action volume .6
//!action fadetime 2

!normal loop
!normal volume .5
!normal fadetime 2

!aux1 volume 1
!aux1 interrupt
!aux1 restart

!aux2 volume 1
!aux2 interrupt
!aux2 restart

!aux3 volume .6
!aux3 fadetime 1
!aux3 restart

!aux4 loop
!aux4 interrupt
!aux4 restart

dunno if it's the same for the full game.

I'm running the full game, but I really don't feel like peicing together a bunch of loops. There's no mp3s of it anywhere??

just run a wire from your line-out to your line-in ports and record the thing in soundrec.
then make your own damn mp3.

make sure you use Dibrom's switches with EAC/LAME v3.96.1 with the following source code:

1057 dibrom 1.125 else if (strcmp(preset_name, "extreme") == 0){
1058 dibrom 1.117
1059 if (fast > 0) {
1060 lame_set_VBR(gfp, vbr_mtrh);
1061 }
1062 else {
1063 lame_set_VBR(gfp, vbr_rh);
1064 }
1065
1066 dibrom 1.125 lame_set_preset_expopts(gfp, 2);
1067 dibrom 1.117 lame_set_quality(gfp, 2);
1068 lame_set_lowpassfreq(gfp, 19500);
1069 lame_set_mode(gfp, JOINT_STEREO);
1070 lame_set_VBR_min_bitrate_kbps(gfp, 128);
