Xbox 360 HD DVD to be an external device

oh, ive seen pictures like this:

and just assumed that thats the shape of it in total. i didnt realize that the outer part is just a case for the disc.

i can agree with that, but even i wasn't excited for cd-i. i believe it was philips(?) that came out with the first player. my rich friend who had every damn thing in the world had to have it so i got to check it out pretty early on. needless to say, i left knowing i was glad i didnt plunk down almost $500 for nothing.

aye, the cdi was a great idea, just released too early. people were happy with their vhs (now with longplay!) so the thing became a halfassed gameconsole instead - burn cycle was the shit

we had two for some reason

my dad bought one for the living room (he's a movie nut) and we had a devkit in our bedroom
