Whether you like him or not, to be factual, he was elected by receiving the number of electoral college votes needed to become president. The overall popular vote means nothing in a presidential election. He wasn't the first president to lose the popular vote and win the electoral college. If you want to change this, amend the constitution.

As a teacher, you should know this.

There's the problem. And I know that others have lost the popular vote and won the electoral. I was referring to the popular vote...the will of the people, since I was commenting on the 'you guys voted him in twice.'

Anyhow, if there's anything good about all of this its that we've got a Republican controlled house, senate, and presidency. And we have all had the chance now to see how well that works.

i don't think this was what tnf was referring to. i suspect he meant the fact that enough democrat voters to give gore florida were fraudulently purged from the electoral register (several tens of thousands, and bush 'won' by 537), and that bush was simply appointed president by his dad's conservative friends in the supreme court
