iPod problem

Post by Zyte »

So i received my black 30gb ipod video today. I turned it on, everything seemed to work fine. But after a few minutes the screen just froze, and it still is. The backlight is still on, and im stuck in the menu.

I tried resetting it by using the buttons but it doesnt work.

So should i just wait till the battery is low or is there some other way to reset it. I dont wanna crack it open :/

I take it you're physically reset it by holding the middle and bottom button down at the same time for 10 seconds?

yeah, after you put it on hold and back, so said my 'guide'. Doesnt work.

Battery was pretty low when i turned it on cause i just got it, so ill just leave it for a while. With blacklight on it shouldnt take too long before it turns off. (i hope)

I think the best thing to try would be to bash it repeatedly against the base of your skull.

I saw one that did that. It was an iPod mini, but it ran out of juice and auto-resetted itself. I'd give it ~10 hours for the battery to die, and then to a reset on the thing. It may just be a software bug that will clear itself.

RMA. That'll leave a bad taste in your mouth even IF it resets itself.

Is this with or without it being plugged into the USB port?
