Working out
So I've added a couple days a week of power yoga to my weight training. I laughed at the idea at first, because I figured hell would freeze over before I was doing any workout with the word "yoga" in it....but let me tell you, if done properly and for a long enough duration, this can kick your ass.
Lot's of static contraction and slow, negative-rep like focus on the muscles.
Give it a try if you haven't. It's easy to do some of the basic movements at home with no equipment.

Yea, that's not power yoga...but that is the image i always had when i heard the term yoga, hence my saying i never thought i'd try it.
I shoudl say that i am just doing a few basic moves/sequences...things that involve basic bridging, push ups, calf stretches, runner's pose, etc...none of that bend your legs over your head shit.
I'd tear my scrotum trying that.

BTW - when I don't go to the gym and lift, I do the workouts my wife ordered as part of a package off of an infomercial. I told some others about this package because unlike most TV workout stuff, it's not a gimmick trying to sell you some device to train your abs, or some squat chair, thighmaster, whatever...its a very well designed set of circuit workouts for building muscle and for leaning out, as well as hitting your abs.
First dvd is 14.99, and that comes with all 3 main workouts (cardio, muscle building, abs) as well as some very handy diet advice. For those of you who want a home workout that will lean you out, you can't go wrong with this. Or if you are thinking of joining a gym, but want to establish a little foundation of muscle and conditioning first before going in and looking like an out of shape fatty in front of everyone (that does actually keep a lot of folks out...), this is also the workout and diet program for you.

Just mute the sound when you watch them.

John Basedow looks like he'd be a huge nerd in non fitness state. Maybe there is hope for us little dorky folks, after all

Basedow does his cardiovascular exercise 4-5 days a week on an elliptical crosstrainer first thing in the morning to maximize fat burning. “After 8-10 hours of fasting while sleeping,” he says “our blood sugar and insulin levels are low and this is the perfect environment for our bodies to access stored body fat for energy.”
