is it possible? is there a utility for it, or at least any proffesionals that handle that kind of thing?

If it's dead, or busted, there are services that will retrieve the data for you, but it can be quite expensive depending on how badly the drive is damaged. ie: it's going to cost more to pull data off a drive that was fire damaged than one that just up and died.
