Why would you want to do that? 60fps is more than enough IMO
edit:
and if you have a powerful enough PC to hit that cap all the time, then that's even better, as fluctuating framerates are worse than low framerates.
I'd rather play at a constant 30fps than something that swings up and down between 15 and 60

I reach over 120 easily most of the time, its just that when you go that high weird things start to happen with physics, i.e. grenades seem to either flop onto the floor, or shoot miles over the room, and if you kill an imp with a machinegun he wont jsut fall, he will hit the ceiling and bounce around...
So i keep it on 60, meh...

Timedemo doesn't have the FPS locked so if you run a timedemo (which is pretty much the benchmark tool in id Software games) you'll get results without tinkering with game engine settingsMKJ wrote:cause i wanna see how much fps this thing can run
its locked at 63 atm no matter what happens so i dont think fluctuations would be a problem. not sure though, thats why i wanna see

True. I don't quite understand that tbh. It's not like the people at iD don't know how to implement framerate independent physics.o'dium wrote:I reach over 120 easily most of the time, its just that when you go that high weird things start to happen with physics, i.e. grenades seem to either flop onto the floor, or shoot miles over the room, and if you kill an imp with a machinegun he wont jsut fall, he will hit the ceiling and bounce around...
that imp thing already happens to me every once in a whileo'dium wrote:I reach over 120 easily most of the time, its just that when you go that high weird things start to happen with physics, i.e. grenades seem to either flop onto the floor, or shoot miles over the room, and if you kill an imp with a machinegun he wont jsut fall, he will hit the ceiling and bounce around...

doesnt really matter though since they disappear like 1/3 second after you kill them
