Re: That
What the hell does that have to do with anything? If his ratings have never fallen below 45% then it would just be wasted space. You may be a cunt, but you're an intelligent one, so I can assume that you're only upset on behalf of the rednecks and retards who are ... what? Going to look at the graph thinking the x axis is 0 and assume that the president's approval is even lower than it really is? Who cares?Geebs wrote:That graph's deliberately misleading. There's no reason for the x axis to cross the y axis at 45%.
See? This shit makes me completely disinterested in attempts to oust Bush, even when I agree that he's a liar....

Ha.
I know exactly how FoxNews - and the White House - will spin it...they'll say that the only people on the panel and the only people persuing this are either all Democrat or were "slighted" by the Bush Administration....therefore this whole thing is nothing but bitterness and revenge.
Never mind that there are facts coming to light...it'll all be about the bitterness and revenge of these "losers that just won't let this go".

lol
Just for kicks I went to FoxNews.
I found this little ditty that does double duty...it says that Congress is "out of touch" (lots of congressmen and women on the "Memo" panel) and it also tows the party line by saying that a majority of "voters" in the US (those "voters" being from the tabulated (and not to be trusted) results from one FoxNews poll voted on by an obviously misinformed FoxNews audience) want Gitmo to stay open and that they also want the Patriot Act renewed.
And of course..in preparation for more flack from the international community...FoxNews runs this article about the White House being "appalled" at Dick Durbin's comments earlier this week about the treatment of prisoners at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. To further the propaganda of the forthcoming flack - on the front page - you have John Gibson "celebrating" Gitmo as a great American institution.
And of course it wouldn't be a front page if it didn't have O'Cunt comparing the New York Times to the mafia when Joe Wilson wrote an article for them.
Another gem has FoxNews yapping on and on about Kofi Annan and his "son's Oil-for-Food dealings". Of course...it's all the UN's fault when they got publically and humiliatingly shitstomped by George Galloway on the issue.
It's hilarious. You can see first hand just how pro-active FoxNews and the White House are at forming an opinion for their viewers with current and upcoming shitstorms. More shitstorms about the truth will happen...and FoxNews will be there to twist it into something completely false.
And those dumb fuckin Yanks eat it up cause it makes them feel good about themselves.

from the white house bress briefing today...
Q Scott, on another topic, has the President or anyone else from the administration responded to the letter sent last month by Congressman John Conyers and signed by dozens of members of the House of Representatives, regarding the Downing Street memo? Has the President or anyone else responded?
MR. McCLELLAN: Not that I'm aware of.
Q Why not?
MR. McCLELLAN: Why not? Because I think that this is an individual who voted against the war in the first place and is simply trying to rehash old debates that have already been addressed. And our focus is not on the past. It's on the future and working to make sure we succeed in Iraq.
These matters have been addressed, Elaine. I think you know that very well. The press --
Q Scott, 88 members of Congress signed that letter.
MR. McCLELLAN: The press -- the press have covered it, as well.
Q What do you say about them?
Q But, Scott, don't they deserve the courtesy of a response back?
MR. McCLELLAN: Again, this has been addressed

Ray McGovern still laying the smackdown. He is absolutely destroying the Bush Administration....publically and clearly.
Keep in mind....Ray McGovern is an ex-CIA bigwig. He was THE MAN who used to brief the president on intelligence matters on a daily basis since before most of you were born. If there is anyone who knows what happens in the White House and in the intelligence community it is him.
He's also the man who referred to the neocons (Wolfowitz, Rumsfeld, et al) as "The Crazies". And he refered to these men as "The Crazies" as far back as the Reagan era.
He knows EXACTLY what he is talking about and he is fucking crushing the "official story".

I'm glad I watched that. They're now on their way to the White House to deliver a letter and petition that has been signed by 560,000 American citizens, and 122 members of Congress, asking nothing more than for the President to answer the questions they asked over a month ago.
This isn't going to go away anytime soon.

Not too likely. C-Span 3 isn't even available in most parts of the country without satellite. Which means the people who need to hear about it probably didn't. But that might not matter depending on what happens next.GONNAFISTYA wrote:Too bad it wasn't pre-emptively broadcast on every station....like a typical Bullshit Bush speech.
Here's hoping more than 6 Americans watched it.
Well, the thing is, Mr. Bush is in a real pickle here, which is why he hasn't answered at all yet.GONNAFISTYA wrote:One can hope.R00k wrote:This isn't going to go away anytime soon.
For the past 5 years, he has been able to dissemble, not answer questions, divert attention from real questions, and slander people's character, to keep anything from sticking to him as far as his voting base is concerned.
This case is different in a couple ways though. And it is very telling in the fact that he is simply not answering, and being very careful not to make any official statement whatsoever.
That's because, if he admits that the contents of the memo are true, then obviously he's in some serious trouble with a lot of people - not least of all the military and their families.
But this is an official British government document -- if he makes an official statement to congressmen that the contents of the memo are false, then he is publicly calling the head of MI-6 a liar, and stating that the intelligence chief lied to Tony Blair about American actions and intentions in the run-up to war. He obviously can't say that because if he did, it would cause an inquiry in Britain -- and Dearlove would stand accused of doing exactly what the Bush administration did to our Congress, which he obviously wouldn't stand for.
So, if and when there is any sort of inquiry whatsoever, a Congressman would have official statements to use from both officials. In which case, Bush would only have two choices: First, to admit that the memo's contents are the truth, which he is obviously trying to avoid doing; or Secondly, to call them a lie under oath.
If he calls them a lie under oath while Britain is publicly saying they are true, then his best hope is that his voting base will believe him over Britain. But if he goes that route, he will have completely ruined his ties with our only true ally in the world.
The worst case scenario is that no one believes him, and he is impeached.
You can see by the fact that he is refusing to even acknowledge the question, that he is thinking in terms of the legal implications any answer he gives could have for him down the road.
He may or may not be impeached -- that's a mighty big word, and nowhere in the near future, if it's in the cards at all. But I believe that right now we are seeing the actions of a President who is weighing very heavy implications with every step he takes on this issue - and he's got a private counsel who is telling him the legal implications as well.
