Thanks, I don't know what that means exactly, but I'm sure it gets typed into the console.. right? I find that I can hit printscreen, and that works for now. I will try your suggestion, as I'm sure that is the proper way to do it!
Thanks,
Kory

Screenshots are "blown out"
Wondering if there is a trick to taking screenshots? When I hit F11 it takes the screenshot, and saves it as it should, but the images look washed or blown out. The lighting doesn't seem to match at all.

Re: So how do I make a curved ramp and other things...
Is the quarter torus made with a cylinder that has been bent, and the top and bottom surfaces flattened down? Man, you should write up a tutorial for those two shapes.. It would really help a lot of us that are new to mapping with GTK. I could build those things in my sleep with Maya, but this brush...

Re: So how do I make a curved ramp and other things...
That is exactly what I have been trying to make... especially the quartered torus. I use those two shapes for a lot of things.. It makes for a "chunkier" look, and smoother gameplay!
Thanks a whole lot!

Torus is not my friend!
Hey everyone... How the heck do you easily make a torus in GTK. I use this shape a lot for trim, and adding bulk around pipes, columns, and cubing around platforms. I can easily make the parts to construct the shape, but getting it to seal, and scale properly is not working for me. Anyone know of a ...

Re: So how do I make a curved ramp and other things...
Okay, so I finally figured out how to make one of the shapes.. it's a curved platform, which I now have the problem of snapping walls, and trim pieces to. I don't know that a curved ramp is an object that can be made in GTK. Think of a curved hallway, that has a sloped floor. I will just use steps i...

Re: Natural environments?
Thanks for the replies.. I kind of feel like a dumbass, after seeing the documentation that is included with GTK.. I didn't realize that there was so much there.. Anyway, I really like the idea of building terrain using Maya..I only have Maya 5.0 and can't seem to find an .ase exporter for anything ...

Natural environments?
What is the "normal" way that natural environments are tackled with GTK for Q3? I need to make a playing field, some mountains, cliffs, and some trenches. Some of the features need to be quite large, but not blocky. My first attempt was to make large patches as cliffs and use another patch...

Re: GTK 1.5 Menu sticking problems
I think I figured out that it is related to having the run game option set to "on" once a build is complete. I turned that off, and the issue stopped.
Hope this helps someone if they run into the same issue.

GTK 1.5 Menu sticking problems
I am having a problem with the menus in GTK 1.5. When I click on a menu it stalls for a few seconds to maybe 20 seconds, then flashes the menu, and disappears. If I hold the LMB down over one of the menu "names" the menu will usually drop down, but some times does not. Does this sound fami...

Re: Is there a way to dump/change the Quake3 title screen?
So where are the files that make up the menu screen? I've looked through the directories, but can't make heads or tails of it. Is is put together with a bunch of little pieces in an .xml file or something? I'd like to edit/change the Quake3 flamed logo.. anyone know the name of that file, and the bi...

Re: Is there a way to dump/change the Quake3 title screen?
Yeah, I am basically looking to create a full mod. I'm creating my own shaders,skins..(If I can get a buddy of mine to do them), music.. basically everything, so there is no need to show the Q3 menu. I'd rather show the title of what my mod will be called. The plan is to give light to a 5 level mini...

Is there a way to dump/change the Quake3 title screen?
Just wondering if there is a way to dump/change the "flamed" Q3 start screen. It looks to be rendered with the engine, so I am thinking that it is probably a map. Anyone know how to do this?

So how do I make a curved ramp and other things...
Hey everyone! My first map is coming along very well. I am having some trouble however making curved ramps and hallway floors. I can easily make a curved wall, and invert it for thickness etc.. but, I cannot figure out how to make a curved ramp or floor in GTK. Is there a way to "extrude" ...

Re: Lighting 123... Any good threads on lighting?
Thanks! This helps a whole lot. I did some lighting at Insomniac, but it was all done through Maya. Pretty much the same thing. I'm going to walk through the tutorial mentioned above later tonight. It seems well written, and easy enough!!

Lighting 123... Any good threads on lighting?
Hi everyone! I am new to the forum, and new to editing/building maps for Q3A, however, I worked for nearly 6 years at Insomniac Games, as an environment artist on Resistance 1 & 2, and Ratchet & Clank 3, Deadlocked, and Tools of Destruction. I am using GTK Radiant, and am having a hard time ...
