Im having some performance issues (mainly FPS dropping randomly to 10FPS and getting back up to max) on Quake 3 Arena under Windows 7. Anyway to fix this?

This happens in a regular nonmodded DM server with about 4 players. Nothing custom everything original.

Head and CPU is slowing down? Like I said, this doesnt happen in other games which require alot more power and are also FPS.

Because of QL, alot of the servers on Q3A have started to die down. There are less and less servers everyday.

Also QL doesnt work on IE8.

I played Quake Live yesterday and it has nothing to do with the Quake 3 Arena. It feels similar, it sounds fimilar, it looks similar but nothing to do with Quake 3 Arena. They should have just released it as a 1.33 patch for Quake 3 Arena. What do you think?

Quake 3 was made back in the 56K world and most connections were not boardband. Whenever I connect to a server and I have to download a map, the max it gets downloaded at is about 15kb. How can I improve this?
