I learnt how to straffe jump by watching Fatal1ty demos and just seeing what he does, what angles he takes off etc... it takes time. I practiced the rocket to rail jump on pro-q3dm6 for about 30 minutes a night for weeks till I could do it 90% of the time. After making that jump consistently, you kn...

He said (Romero) that CY2A was one of his favourite maps. I remember playing on that map for months back in 97. There's a place on one of the towers (the RL tower I think) with a computer screen that says "tom?"... a reference to Tom Hall always camping the RL when he played that map with ...

that's an interesting thought.
Thanks. I just wish someone would have expressed that to me when I started playing. Unfortunately it took me until now to realise how important it is. :icon30:

Avoid playing me if you want to live. ;)

Learn the maps until you can walk backwards through them, and think about the space around you. The smaller the map becomes in your mind, the faster you can create a tactic.

He made me stop playing quakeworld. Back in 1997-1998 I got wireplay to play online (for about 5p/minute!). I was undefeated for about 3 months then I met Sujoy on DM4 when he was in clan DC. He beat me consistently about 40-0 and showed me how to play quake. Now he's planning on making a comeback i...

When Doom 3 came out there was nothing like it at all in terms of looks or engine. The fact that the alpha was leaked let many people in on it's secrets over a year before the game came out. For an engine from 2000-2001 it was fucking awesome. Carmack is untouchable, everone copied of him and still ...

Ha I was 12 when it came out but didn't see it until I was 14. It blew me away, but the day after I saw Doom (shortly after it's initial release). A month later I had a 486. :icon31:

The game will suck. I had high hopes for this until I saw some moving footage. Nothing will come close to the immortal Q3 in terms of feeling or hardcore-ness, no matter how pretty.
