Ok, a technique to keep network load within bounds. They need a special technique for hitboxes and for the default fps drops when playing in internet, too :>

I have seen some addon.conf's with the quakemas pk4's in it. I'm not sure this is a good idea because you dont know wether they change the pk4's in a patch :)

I uploaded some maps from the fragarcade contest, but it prints an error "You entered the wrong filename during step 1." after upload. When i look back, the filename is correct. I had no error with the first uploaded file.

[edit] No problems when i delete the cookie.

I played FEAR MP only 1 time but the biggest + with all fx off i had good constant fps and it was very smooth in MP.

You can try to make a parallel light for shadows and a omni light with shadows disabled to brighten the area a bit up/adding some specular or (like i have seen in some doom3 maps) place the center outside of the map.

Another good way is look into Raven's maps how they made outdoor areas :>
