I didn't even know there was an installer, I just overwrote the exe and worked fine.

I vaguely remember a bug that would reset the picmip. Also, I'd like to thank iD for having the courtesy to maintain and update a game this old. I, for one, applaud them for it. werd. SoM said he gets movement problems with the patch though (like the player feels heavy) and someone at esr mentioned pb problems when connecting to a server, but I dunno ...
