Actually, we're all wrong. The song was originally written by Piero Umiliani and used in some Swedish flick.
It was popularized by Sesamestreet in 1969 through the video I posted though. The video you posted is a remake of that sketch from the first episode of The Muppet Show from 1976.

i remember some commercial using that song like 10 years ago, and all the kids were singing it as "that song from the commercial". I too thought, ffs know your classics. if you dont see muppets when you hear that song you need some edumacations.
