I still have to play Revelations. I wonder where AC3 will take place. I've heard rumors of it being in the US during the civil war but I doubt that's the case. Not enough tall buildings.

Eraser, don't bother with Revelations. The story stuff was okay(ish), but the game itself was utter wank and actually a step back from Brotherhood.

Yup, and it's absolute tosh. I'm not fond of tower defense games anyway, and the one in ACR is a particularly bad effort. You can almost hear the marketers saying "What's cool in gaming at the moment? Let's get it in AC!".

so it looks like AC3 will take place in the new land.
Kinda disappointed, since I find american history the most boring subject matter i can think of. I'm dreading it so much, I might not even bother with this one. I'd much rather be fucking about in rome or france or any other european area, that just has much more potential for interesting landscapes, architecture, culture and story line.

Anyway, here are some screenshots sure to bore you to death with the cliche feeling of it all.

Surely the worst part about this will be the lack of massive buildings to climb. Speculation is rife that the character will be native American.

Are you kidding me with those screenies? I was able to believe that the main character could blend in with the folks in the first game, but just barely. Most people looked totally different than him in the streets, but there were a few priests or other people in long robes, so I was fine with it. But this? The guard in the first screenshot should be saying, "what the fuck are you doing dressed like a retard with a bow on your back? Gimme that thing and show me your ID," or something to that effect. In the snow, sure, he'll blend in and whatnot. In town? No wai. I'm with GKY on this one unless someone has a really good argument to the contrary.

If you want realism, I suggest a simulator. Not a game where a guy enters the matrix to relive past memories of a guy who talks to aliens.

How many WW2 games are there?
How many American Revolution setting games are there?
Maybe I'm a history nerd, but that time period is the coolest and most interesting in American history, bar none. Haha, besides, I'm sick of killing Middle Easterners and Nazis in video games, let's kill some Englishmen!

I won't be getting it due to the fact that the mindbogglingly stupid consoley savegame mechanic of Asscreed part 1 deleted my savegame at a point where i was really close to finishing it, i r still furious with EA about that, grrrr.

Ah, i am confused about two things i see, indeed Ubisoft is the target of my rage and also it was AC2 that i played, not the first.

I'll consider picking 3 up in a sale if i see one tbh, i quite enjoyed the whole climbing stabbing running stuff and i read somewhere the savegame thingie is much better. Just pissed me off so much that it deleted my save, never found the will or the energy to start over

I think it looks great. So they went and mixed it up a bit... Shocking. Its almost as if after what, five games, not counting the other mobile and console versions, they went for something a little different...

But I'm betting if this was just AC2 in a new city, like the last few, people would be up in arms?

Yeah, its daft. Yeah, its got a lot of issues... Hell I watched the trailer and he came off looking less "assassin" and more "murderer". Yeah, it annoys me that he nevr seems to stain his lovely white clothes... But jesus fuck, its a game, have a little fun, eh? Lets leave the bullshit at the door gents.

GKY's pic was spot on. Its retarded. But then, no less retarded than everything else. As a guy who LOVED the first, but gave up half way into the second because it was more of the same and never even bothered with the others, this one has my interest. Why? Because its different enough to look like I should give it a go.

Don't cry hate until the series reaches Bomberman Zero levels of stupidity. Until then, just have a bloody laugh, you bunch of slack jawed faglets.

Not sure what your problem with save games was, but a savegame getting lost or corrupt is obviously an incident that shouldn't have happened. While it's frustrating, it shouldn't cloud your judgment of the games, because especially brotherhood is a very well made game.

I think what fueled my anger was the fact that it was a retarded DRM related issue, originally you had to be online in order for the game to be able to save. The PC player community thought this was completely ridiculous and there was much fan outrage at the time it came out, it didn't take long for Ubi to patch it. Thing is, they patched it wrong and there were loads of people who inexplicably lost their savegames at some point. As far as i could tell they never bothered to fix it particular issue either, since it only affected something like 10% of the total player base. Which is still a huge number of people... for laughs, google something like "AC2 deleted save" and be amazed at how many people got upsetted.

Really enjoyable game though, i agree. It's just that when you're almost done and you get to start all over again, it tends to be a little frustrating. Might replay one day though, dunno...

I wasn't really interested in the first place, unless that trailer had something jaw-droppingly awesome in it to pull me back in. I got my kicks from the first and it wore off halfway through the second. I never did finish it, but that may be because I only rented it.
