Robin Elliot - Little Soldier

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qu80xlCOT4s

First heard his music in a film called " A very British gangster".. ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0924165/ )
Not bad film/documentary .. but a great soundtrack. I really liked a tune called " Round Here" There was no soundtrack listings for the film when it came out, so I replayed the part of the film over and over again trying to get the lyrics, googled what I could .. no luck. Its taken me forever to track his music down. Because as it turns out.. he doesnt actually have an album out yet :disgust:

I checked IMDB today to see if someone had put together a soundtrack yet... and yes. I then tracked this tune down on youtube, and then found his myspace page, which has a link to last fm where all his tunes are available for free here :

What the cunting fuck was that?! Sounded like a 257 car pile-up on the set of 1001 dalmations autotuned to an elephant being waterboarded.

I'm currently going through my second wave of 60/70/80s obsession. Listening to a lot of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Who, King Crimson, Hendrix, Creedence Clearwater Revival, ZZ Top, Rush, Dire Straits.

As well recently I started listening to Kate Bush (of Wuthering Heights fame), which is far and away removed from the sort of music I normally like.

The new Dredg album is sublime, as expected.

Additionally I've gotten new stuff which I heard a lot about over the years, but never actively pursued .. like Mastodon, Meshuggah, Opeth and My Dying Bride.

Giving a few bands a second chance that I didn't like the first time around 10-15 years ago like Megadeth, Anthrax and Pantera.

A bunch of 2008/2009 albums from the likes of Amorphis, The Gathering, Chimaira, Lacuna Coil, Sepultura, Placebo, In Flames, Satriani, Soulfly, Slipknot, Testament et al.

Chinese Democracy was awesome.

:ducky:

The Mars Volta's new album "Octahedron" and Chickenfoot's selftitled debut album (a "super rock group" with Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony of Van Halen fame, Chad Smith of RHCP fame and Joe Satriani. Pretty awesome)

Competent-ish. Far better than post Tarja Nightwish (which I refuse to listen to).

Damn, I haven't had a chance to listen yet. Does it resemble any of their other albums?

I've been looking forward to this, but just got too busy to make it a priority. :disgust:

EDIT: Never mind. I picked it up on my way home. It's pretty fucking awesome.

The soundtrack to Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist. Quite relaxing, in a mellow yet upbeat way. If I had to describe it in one word, I'd say it's bubbly.
