a while back I was working on a very optimistic project. I was gonna make a map for wolf :ET and the setting was going to be a huge, secret nazi battle blimp. it was going to have playabiity in the inside and on top of the blimp, as well as some bottom hanging corridors. The atmosphere was going to be amazing... the clouds and ground underneath would move and the story was going to be that the allies were parachuting on to it, in an attempt to take over control (by first destroying the 2 main engines housing the propellers, and then accessing the main control room) before the blimp made it to it's bombarding destination over some critical city, etc.

I now kinda regret not finishing it, but being that I am a sucker for detail I was trying to do too much, too perfect, (custom atmospheric sounds, textures etc.) and eventually gave up on it :( I'd be damned if I made a half assed map.. it was either going to be a top notch map or nothing at all.

In hindsight, I should have made it available to the community, and let them finish it, cause during development I was getting alot of positive feedback from their forums.

it's annoying when you realise you've gotten in over your head on a project. i started a modestly sized HL2SP story, spread over about 6-8 maps, starting at a coast road type village, followed by a train ride to a plague island in a lagoon, culminating in what was to be an epic battle with combine/striders etc on a kind of HL2 version of Venice (think City 17 with canals for streets - lots of airboat shenanigans). after several restarts of the early maps due to dissatisfaction i realised there was no way i could finish it myself

come to think of it, there's probably still some screens of it in the LEM WIP thread...

after i comp on tanging this gregyptctf3 out into oblivion & skinning time to find focus fluctuating between scoping a new layout and messganderdangling with eye flattening effects, y'all come back how ya near..

lol translation

gotta finish my current project then C4 trying another hand at this flare thingy.
