I have been working on a video game ( http://www.Projectraven.com) for an extended period of time.

The game is an independent title. This basically means it has no investors just what I’m able to scrape up using my savings.
We created 20 + maps 50 + character models 20+ weapon models plus all the music and sound we needed.

Unfortunately we created the initial title in the Torque game engine. After years of trying to find animators and a programmer capable of putting in our game features we changed to Quake III

I talked with a game developer that has made and released a title using Quake III and are currently in the process of porting it over to i-touch / i-phone. They are going to do our programming for a large % of units sold.

For maps I exported all the interior maps we had. They work in Quake III but they don’t have the bot clipping/ player clipping etc. I did put the detail brushes in but basically I need someone to tweak the maps plus put bots in them so I just need to change the models after.
One big issue we have though is that Torque is great with exterior maps so a lot of our maps where large exteriors. Quake III can’t handle those so now we have fewer maps, I basically need the maps we have to be perfected and we need new maps created or find maps already created that we have permission to use.

If you’re interested in making a video game for release let me know how much time it would take to tweak completed levels, how long would it take to create new levels and how much compensation you would like. If you have any sci-fi or post apocalyptic maps you would allow us to use and have FULL copy write permission to, send me an email showing the map and telling me how much you want.

Couple links for the game and the engine

Wow now that was trippy seeing quake 3 on an I-phone. :olo:

Wish I could offer some kind of solid advice on how long it would take to clean 20+ levels up. I know that on larger scale AAA games cleaning up existing levels can sometimes require more effort than rebuilding them from scratch. But so many factors are needed to really make any kind of solid guess.

For a full time mapper not in super crunch mode I would not expect each level to take a day less than a week to clean up properly though. I mean this only as a general rule of thumb however.

How large are the levels in general?
How complex is the game play ect?
edit: Not looking for direct answers to these questions. Just gauging complexity is my intention.

So far so bad. Haven't found anyone interested in tweaking maps or letting us use already created ones. If anyone has any suggestions let me know.

:(

Don't be discouraged Bricejohnson. What you have so far looks good, just need to keep looking for some people that want to work on it :)

Have you been searching other forums too? Once in a while threads like this pops up here, but I never really see a big interest from the mappers, could be that q3 is getting older, people are getting older...

I got a little bit of interest. Someone has given me permission to use their maps for free. I need to retexture but that’s no biggy.

I also posting on levelmakers.com but I agree there isn’t a lot of interest for these types of projects. Most don’t get finished and if they do they just lose money anyways.

I understand its older technology but as far as a Itouch/Iphone engine it’s actually not that bad.

I’ve found with recruiting even if there is lots of interest 9 times out of 10 you have someone that starts out strong then eventually just stops working on it.

It’s really just luck of the draw, I’m hoping some people have extra maps laying around which they will give us permission to change and use. I’m also hoping to find a skilled mapper with some free time to tweak and finish all the maps we currently have.

If you have any suggestions for other web sites let me know. Or if you think you know someone I should email that might not visit this site anymore just send me a shout by email.

Thank you for the suggestions.
