hey guys check it out my beta of my first map:

here are some early screenshots:

I thought of some of my favorite maps while making it such as q3dm5 and quake 1 dm3, im sure you will notice the similarities.

I was unable to get the .aas file made (for bots) due to an error bspc.exe gave me but hopefully in future builds it will go away.

let me know what u think of gameplay, and object placement, any other critiques. I'll try to improve and then move onto texturing/lighting.

have a good day :D

Updated with suggestions by ShadoW over at levelmakers, he told me to widen some spaces and make some door ways bigger. I also added health and armor! bots still not workin but i tested out the map with my lil bro and he liked it but said it could be bigger and that i should build up. So I may add another level up top.

yeah, I felt like I was gonna hit my head on the ceiling anytime I left the ground level, and it's hard to keep a good speed strafing around b/c of the small doorways... I'll give the update a try later tonight.

Ok so I am almost calling this map layout done, but a call for help first: Anyone feel like downloading the .map file and debugging it so that the .aas file will properly generate? keeps giving me that leak error. It uses evillair's dsi textures by the way.

Or you can download it and play it as it is right now, don't think I'm going to change it much anymore but crits are still welcomed! Thanks :) Also, I created the .arena file but it is still not showing up in single player/skirmish

Also, I still plan on going back and adding in proper textures and lights, just want to know what people think of the layout and item placement. thx

Okay, I took a look at your map file. No big mystery. It's giving you that error because there is a leak in the map. The floor of the angled hallway where it intersects with the lightning gun room does not fit flush. There is a small gap between the brushes. You need to make sure that there are no gaps like that. The map must be entirely sealed from the gray void.
