Hah, exactly what I thought. Not a single cancer or dead baby joke. Stand-up comedians these days...

lol...that was hilarious.
Re: RICKY NO!
Quality
Anything that makes those nauseating love-ins watchable has got to be a good thing. Robert Downey Jr's quote indicated a degree of butthurt
Re: RICKY NO!
All of the good bits together.
Re: RICKY NO!
That was awesome, we need more of this on a regular basis. The patronizing of old certainly has to go.
Dork Meddle can't handle awesome sigs.

Re: RICKY NO!
Christian Bale thought Gervais was great and that's good enough for me.
"Thank God for comedians," he said, adding that he had no problems with Gervais' zingers: "I'm hoping he's going to keep going further."

I love quake!

i can agree. however, watch his show "Animals"Memphis wrote:I generally dislike gervais, not finding the whole 'cringe comedy' thing at all funny when it's scripted and recorded, but fair play, that took some sack and was great
roflskates.
Re: RICKY NO!
I know, has that air of "look at me being all gutsy by taking on these celebs, and not giving a shit", but he does it very well.
Pretty impossible to top in the next edition.
And yes, "Animals" and "Politics" are both excellent stand up.
Also, I really like his 'cringe comedy'-style;
I think most of us work in an office environment, and if you can't laugh at the mechanisms he accurately ridicules, a part of your brain is missing/dead.
Re: RICKY NO!
Or Politics, or Fame, or Science (2, 3 and 4 respectively), don't know if you omitted them because you didn't like them or weren't aware, thought I'd put them out there thoughMKJ wrote:i can agree. however, watch his show "Animals"Memphis wrote:I generally dislike gervais, not finding the whole 'cringe comedy' thing at all funny when it's scripted and recorded, but fair play, that took some sack and was great

I thought The Office was pretty excellent.
Contrary to that though, The Office US is absolute crap.

Re: RICKY NO!
True.
There's a reason there's only 2 seasons of the original; Everything had pretty much be said and done. Finished. Quality.
But in US television, you apparently have to milk a good idea up to and beyond 7 fucking seasons, where it slowly turns into episodes of Happy Days on strong sedatives.

Re: RICKY NO!
Naturally, it's good fun to bash Americans whenever and whereever possible, but the US version of The Office was actually a great show in its own right once they got past the carbon copy and highly awkward Season 1. It didn't have quite the same bite or edginess of the UK version, but it's still great comedy. Of course, it deteriorated severely once, as Plan B said, it slowly turned into episodes of Happy Days on strong sedatives. I don't know why they always fuck shit up by getting people married and having babies.
